About the opportunity • Alcoa is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team at our Alumar location, in São Luís – MA • Focus of the role is to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to meet business needs and deliver procurement value to the plant stakeholders. Contract implementation and management; operational continuity through supply chain deliverables; process optimization to improve and increase efficiencies are keys focus areas. Cost savings, working capital improvement are also expected deliverables in partnership with other Procurement pillars / teams; • Needs to work closely with the location operating, maintenance and finance leaders to ensure congruence between the operating objectives and the procurement plan; • Will be engaged on activities associated with the purchasing and supply of Materials/Services & Capital for in Brazil. Following the global guidelines in relation to each contracting, promote alignment with the business needs and better strategy for Alcoa; • Support of contract portfolio and assist with implementation and on-going management of contracts that drive operational effectiveness and efficiency improvements; • Strategic sourcing analyses of the best options regarding the renegotiation of the current contract, extension or launch a new tender in to the market; • Critical analysis of the scopes and descriptions received, as well as suggested models to stablish partnership with technical area in order to increase competitiveness, reduce costs and / or improve the quality of the processes / services provided with gains for the Company; • Coordinate technical visits with suppliers participating in the competition process; • Execute the contract management evaluating of performance considering the main KPIs established in the contract; • Analyze commercial proposals defining the best alternative to acquire services and supply of equipment focused on TCO - Total Cost Ownership; • Lead efforts to develop and standardize processes with peers from other regions; • Implement market strategies segmented according to the needs of BU's; • Apply the global guidelines related to its activities in order to meet strategic business and supply chain planning; • Develop contracts for the Alumina and Metal businesses, ensuring compliance with them; • Comply with stablished SLA agreements to ensure the performance of the delivered services; • Manage suppliers contracts ensuring the delivery performance of their services and equipment, in line with Supply Chain standards of excellence; • Establish contemporary contract frameworks, with formal supplier performance metrics and processes for monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement; • Identify opportunities to reduce Adhoc acquisition and Implementation of e-Catalog; • Conduct market and internal data analysis to ensure alliance supplier performance; identify non-contract spend and additional contract utilization opportunities; • Works collaboratively with all other Procurement Leaders to address opportunities and manage supplier relationships; • Implement strategies developed for commodities align with overall business strategies.
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with: • Graduation in Administration, Engineering or related areas • Solid experience in the Procurement - Services and Goods • Desirable: Advanced English Level (reading, speaking and writing) and have experience in the Mining / Aluminum segment • Desirable skills: Ability to listen and work as a team, Initiative to deal with unforeseen problems; Deliver results through others with positive influence; Results Oriented; Strategic Thinking, Oracle Knowledge, Power Point Advanced, Think Cell (Software), Share point and Advanced Excel.
